ICSI is an advanced form of IVF (In-Vitro Fertilization) where a single healthy sperm is directly injected into an egg to achieve fertilization. It’s especially helpful in cases of male infertility or previous failed IVF cycles.
Egg Retrieval: Mature eggs are collected from the female partner.
Sperm Selection: A single, healthy sperm is chosen using advanced microscopic techniques.
Sperm Injection: The sperm is injected directly into the egg using a fine needle.
Embryo Development: Fertilized eggs (embryos) are monitored for growth.
Embryo Transfer: Healthy embryo(s) are transferred into the uterus for pregnancy.
Low sperm count or poor sperm motility
Abnormal sperm shape (morphology)
Azoospermia (sperm retrieved surgically)
Previous IVF failure
Unexplained infertility
Use of frozen or donor sperm
High fertilization success
Overcomes severe male infertility
Minimizes fertilization failure in IVF
Used with TESA/PESA/MESA techniques
